Alfred Akateh Model Design Specialist Title: "Technologies for Rapid Generation of Knockout/Knock in Mouse Models: CRISPR/Cas9 and TurboKnockout" While genetically engineered mouse/rat models have been used widely in biomedical research, the design and generation of these models can be complicated, time-consuming and costly. In this presentation, Cyagen’s model design capabilities will be presented while briefly reviewing the traditional pronuclear injection based transgenics, ES cell homologous recombination based gene targeting, and the recently developed CRISPR-mediated genome editing technology, with an emphasis on the pros and cons of each technology and their applications. Finally, Cyagen’s TurboKnockout technology which allows the generation of conditional knockout/knockin mouse models in as fast as 6 months will be highlighted.
